Gatehouse Gala

Gatehouse Gala Week runs late July into August with Gala Day falling on the first Saturday of August.  The week running up to Gala Day provides a wide range of activities including treasure hunts, the Fun Run, and the very popular Torchlight Procession and fireworks display on the Wednesday evening.  For further information visit the Gala website:

Big Lit Festival

Our annual short literary festival - usually in April/May.  Spread over four days it presents a wealth of literary themed talks, events, concerts and exhibitions.  Organised by The Bakehouse Community Arts, the main venue is the Mill on the Fleet along with other venues around the town.  For further information visit the website:

Midsummer Music

An annual festival of music over the midsummer weekend.  Exciting acts both local and from further afield with the main event on Saturday evening in the Primary School.  Other events take place throughout the weekend at venues across the town.  Including open mic sessions and relaxed informal music in the local hostelries. The Bakehouse

Talks and Excursions Group

This is an anual series of talks and usually associated excursion running monthly from March to October.  The talks are in The Mill on the Fleet on a Friday evening with optional excursions on the Saturday morning to visit the subject of the talk.  The talks are detailed on the Mill website:

Mill Sessions
