Woodside Affordable Homes Project.
Following a series of successful funding applications, the GDI is currently engaged in a feasibility study to establish the viability of building community-owned, energy efficient homes on the former Woodside Garage site which has been derelict now for 17 years. Recent community engagement has demonstrated widespread community support for the project due to the shortage of affordable homes for local people.
The GDI has partnered with South of Scotland Community Housing (SOSCH) to take the project to pre-planning application stage and are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the project on behalf of the GDI.
The role will include the development of a detailed project plan, commissioning the site invstigation survey, a flood risk mitigation strategy and green transport plan along with further community engagement. This is a complex project with many hurdles to overcome so there is a need now to bring in a project lead with experience of complex building projects, familiar with the planning application process who can move the project forward at the pace needed to meet the strict funding deadlines.
