Our What's On page is designed to highlight local activities, attractions, events and information on a regular basis so that you are kept up to date with happenings in and around Gatehouse of Fleet.

Gatehouse Country Market

In the Murray Arms Courtyard, Ann St, 1st Saturday of each month from 9.30-1.00pm. A range of stalls selling quality food produce from around Galloway. Bread, meat, eggs, veg, cheese, jams and preserves.

The Mill on the Fleet

The Mill is open each year from April - October. As well as the main exhibition, there is a programme of exhibitions, talks and guided walks running throughout the season. click here for more information and

Gatehouse Gala

The annual Gatehouse of Fleet Gala takes place during the end of July/beginning of August each year with Gala Day at the end of the week falling on the first Saturday of August. Click here for further information.

Events and Activities

Crook Making Demonstrations
Mill on the Fleet
3-5 May and 24-26 May
Local specialist crookmaker Bobby Carson will be working and demonstrating his craft in the Mill on the Fleet during the holiday weekends in May. Drop in during the weekend between 10.30am and 4.30pm. Admission free.

Gatehouse Music Festival
Midsummer Music in Gatehouse of Fleet: June 20th-22nd
The Gatehouse Music Festival was resurrected last year after an absence of several years, and this summer will see the festival build on last year's success.  Timed to coincide with the summer solstice, the festival will be a music-filled weekend of pub sessions, open stage slots and special guest musicians. Read more.

Gatehouse Music Society
Concerts (4 a year) are held in Gatehouse Parish Church.  Season ticket £27, individual concerts £9, accompanied schoolchildren free


Galloway Young Strings

Every Monday during term time, Young Strings: Violin,viola and cello players, Community Centre
4.15 pm – 5.45 pm.

Gatehouse Webcam

A webcam has been installed providing a view down the High Street past the clock tower, looking towards Wigtown Bay. The webcam has been set up by The Masonic Arms and CMS Broadband. Click here to view.

Our walks are free

Our walks are short - From 30 minutes to an hour and are organised by local volunteers.
Our walks are easy - You don’t have to be super fit to join in we have walkers of all abilities.
Our walks are accessible – Most leave from the centre of town (transport is available to some of the starting points - contact us for more details)
Our walks need no special equipment – they take place on well-surfaced paths or roads
Our walks are your walks! - Let us know where you’d like to go and we’ll try and organise it
