The Mill
on the Fleet
The Mill on the Fleet was one of the
factories built by the Birtwhistle family from Yorkshire, its water-wheel
driven by the eastern lade that flows behind the High Street houses. This
restored cotten mill is now a visitor centre with a shop, cafe and a programme
of exhibitions and events throughout the year.
