Green Energy for Gatehouse Library

New air source heating units have been installed at Gatehouse library. The Gatehouse Development Initiative and the Community Council have joined forces to purchase new heating units designed to reduce heating costs at Gatehouse library.  Thanks to a generous grant from Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership and individual donations, along with support from the Murray Usher Foundation, new heating units are now up and running in the library.  Speaking after the units were switched on by Gatehouse librarian Joan Frame, GDI chairman David Steel said "This project shows the commitment of the people of Gatehouse to reduce the cost of running this important local resource.  We are determined to do our bit for energy efficiency and the sustainability of our community.
