A welcome awaits you at the Gatehouse of Fleet Drop In Centre. This new purpose built Centre opened
in April 2002 provides a place where local young people (Academy age to
25 years) can meet regularly with their friends in an informal, safe environment.
The Drop In Centre is managed by a Youth Worker and is assisted by a team of local volunteers. The Management Board and Drop In Centre Charity Shop are all run by volunteers. We are always looking for more willing helpers to assist in a variety of ways ....do YOU have any spare time? New Part
Time Youth Worker Josephine King is the new part time youth worker at the Centre and is full of enthusiasm for her new role. Trips out from the Centre are being considered, including skating at Dumfries Ice Bowl, Go Karting, and climbing. Other activities for the summer including BBQs and camping are also on the cards. Facilities available
Leisure trips are regularly offered, along with other events during the year
Opening Hours Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings 7pm - 9pm Open during school holidays.
The Charity Shop
The YMCA Drop In Centre Charity Shop is run by a team of friendly volunteers. All profits are used to keep the Drop In Centre running. Donations of items can be made during opening hours. If you are passing the Charity Shop, take a minute to step in and browse....you never know what you might find! Funds raised from the Charity Shop are significant and are a much valued source of income to our project. Other fund raising activities are always being organised - just watch the notice boards!

Adult Users Welcome At other times of the week the facilities are available to ALL RESIDENTS in and around Gatehouse of Fleet. We also welcome holiday makers dropping in.
Make use of the computers to research your family history, search for a job or college course - everything is on the web! Just phone and book or drop in. Photocopying facilities are also available. We just ask for a nominal donation. (Coaching on how to use a computer is also offered in exchange for a donation to the Centre). The Drop In Centre also offers full disabled access and facilities. Opening Hours for Adults Sessions for individuals or groups
by arrangement. Bookings can be made by letter, telephone, email
or personally at the Centre. The Club Room The Drop in Centre Club Room is also available for hire for private functions; the Bingo Club and Sharewatch Club regularly use the room. The Club Room is ideal for children's birthday parties - family gatherings - informal meetings. A well equipped kitchen is available for refreshments. Sorry, we impose a 'no alcohol' policy.
