Restoration work begins on Cally Walls

The next phase of the Cally Boundaries project is now underway with the reconstruction of a piece of ancient field dyke in Cally Woods.
Professional dykers have begun work to restore a small piece of ancient field dyke where the line of the dyke crosses the blue walk in Cally Woods. The many locals and visitors who use this walk will be able to see how the skilled craftsmen construct these dykes, creating structures which are designed to last for years to come. The new dyke is a reminder that this part of the Cally Woods was once part of the extensive park land surrounding Cally House. The new dyke is in itself a work of art and will enhance the walk through Cally Woods. As soon as the dykers have finished this piece of work they will begin work on a section of the main dyke leading into Gatehouse, which has been cleared by volunteers.
