Management Plan for Cally Park and Woods

The Cally Park and Woods, which today surround the Cally Hotel are an important part of the heritage of the Gatehouse area.  In order to conserve and enhance the Cally landscape the Gatehouse Development Initiative with the support of the landowners and with a grant from Scottish Natural Heritage commissioned Solway Heritage to prepare a management plan to help with future improvements.

Research has revealed pictures, a diary and photographs shedding new light on the history of Cally.

The final report is available to download as a pdf file here. Please note the plan contains many images and maps and is therefore a large file - 21Mb.

The more information we receive the more we can learn about the history of this important part of our heritage.  If you can help us with more information particularly old photographs, pictures or any other information relating to Cally please contact the Gatehouse web site - link at foot of page - or ncoombey@solwayheritage.co.uk
